The monthly workshop of WelComLab is held at No. 6 Conference Room, New Main Building, Beihang University, on June 8th, 2013.

The topic of this workshop is high Spectral Efficiency. We talked about several techniques and algorithms to improve SE, including 3D MIMO, Network MIMO (CoMP) and user-specific MIMO.

The PhD student Yuan Fang first introduced his research about the 3D MIMO and represented the performance of 3D MIMO using different feedback schemes. Then the PhD student Su Di made a presentation of CQI estimation algorithm in CoMP, in which the asymmetry of downlink CDI is exploited. The master student Chen Zhilin introduced his research results about the training design in user-specific MIMO, where dynamic clustering considering user demand is employed. Finally, Dr. Hou Xueying introduced the feedback resource analysis in FDD CoMP while satisfying user demand.
