The BUAA-CATT symposium on advanced MIMO technology is held at No.5 Conference Room, New Main Building, Beihang University, on Jan. 22nd, 2013.
The aim of the symposium is on exploring evolution of 3GPP standards and new wireless communication technologies in academia.
Dr. Pan Xueming of CATT first gave an overall introduction of eIMTA standards. Secondly, Dr. Su Xin introduced the standardization of MIMO technology including 3D MIMO and massive MIMO technology. Dr. Gao Qiubin introduced CoMP technologies in 3GPP standards. The introduction from industry informed us of current problems in real systems to be solved.
In the afternoon, Prof. Yang made a presentation on latest MIMO technologies: from massive MIMO to interference alignment to neutralization. Dr. Tian Yafei introduced the latest study on Passive interference cancellation based on amplitude space sharing in heterogeneous networks.
Dr. Han Shengqian gave a talk on cooperative base station sleep for differentiated services. The Phd student Su Liyan introduced his work on inter-BS antenna calibration and impact of backhaul latency on the performance of CoMP systems.
After the whole day discussion, both BUAA and CATT have benefit from each other and the cooperation between industry and academy will also benefit.
